TSR Coinz: Michelle Obama Reportedly Earned $36M For Her Memoir “Becoming”

Forever First Lady Michelle Obama is getting to the bag and ain’t playing no games.

According to Forbes, Michelle Obama earned $36 million, after selling 10 million copies of her memoir, “Becoming.” In a statement posted to Forbes’ official Instagram account, the publication wrote, in part:

“$36 million. That is how much Michelle Obama made from he memoir, “Becoming,” after selling 10 million copies in 2019, making her the third-highest-paid author of last year.”

Now for the first time since launching a production company, the former first lady will star in a documentary named after her memoir. The film is set to debut on Netflix on May 6 and will follow her as she toured the country promoting her blockbuster book. As we previously reported, the memoir was also the best-selling book of 2018.  In addition to a best-selling book, her 10-city U.S. book tour sold out as well. Fans even paid up to $10,000 a chair just to attend the event.

Liz Harwell, the Senior Director of Merchandising, Trade Books at Barnes & Noble said, “We knew Becoming was going to be one of the biggest books of the year, but it has now officially had the best first week of sales of any book in 2018 and is among the fastest sellers in Barnes & Noble history. This is definitely the must-have book of the holiday season.”
